Digital To Analog Prints?
I Was Once Told That You Could Make A Analog Print To Digital But Never Vice Versa. What Is Your Take On This Statement? I Think With Some Basic Photo-Editing Skills And Clear Acetate Paper You Could Do It. Can It Be Done?
Before the advent of decent inkjet printers, there were a number of popular ways to take a digital file and print it onto traditional analog materials. One was a film recorder that exposed a digital file onto conventional film, which was then printed in any traditional way. These days, there are enlargers that will expose a digital image (in negative form) directly onto photographic paper, color or black and white. Most of these technologies have gone by the wayside, as they were only a temporary solution, useful only until direct digital printer technology (inkjet, dye sublimation, etc.) came up to a professional quality level.
And yes, you can certainly print out an inkjet negative on clear material and use it to print with. That technique is commonly used with alternative contact printing methods, like platinum or cyanotype.
When Going To A Silk Screener For T-Shirt Printing Do I Have To Reverse Everything?
I Am Looking Into Doing A 30Th Birthday T-Shirt For My Boyfriend And I Want To Make A Shirt For His Party. I Was Wondering If I Needed To Reverse Everything To Come Out Right. ( I Know That In High School In My Graphic Design Class We Needed To Flip Everything)
I am a silk-screener and we do not reverse artwork. We print film-positives, not negatives. I would ask your silk-screener for art requirements before sending them the file. If you are printing only one shirt, are you sure they are actually silk-screening the T-shirt and not heat-pressing it? I don't know any reasonable silk-screener that will print only one shirt – there is too much set up involved.

Obviously It'S Not Painted On… So Is It A Sticker? Or Something Else? Does Anyone Know How To Do This?
If So, How?
Not sure, altho I have an idea
1. An image is designed or found
2. It's printed onto a plastic sheet
3. A silk screen is painted with a light sensitve paint
4. The painted screen is coved with the plastic sheet and exposed to UV light
5. The screen is washed, removing paint that was not exposed to UV light and therefore is not cured/dryed. This creates a 'stencil'
6.They put the scrabble peice under the silk screen
7. They roll on paint, the paint seeps thru the unpainted areas, transfering the desing to the peice.
8.Then it's coated in a protective urythane.
That sounds complicated but, they sell kits where you can DIY at home =DD
Create A Shirt?
How Do You Make Those T-Shirts That You Cut Up The Sides And Tie???
Lay your shirt sideways, so one sleeve faces up.
Then cut from the bottom of the shirt up on the side seam so that you end up about an inch or so, give or take, from the top of the sleeve.
Then, cut slits on both sides of your cut, about an inch or two long. Tie the slits together in knots or bows!
Repeat on the other side.
Please remember, your shirt will be slightly tighter after this process!!!
Making Shirts For Red Riding Hood? (10 Points)?
Just Saw The New Movie Red Riding Hood And It Was Awesome!! My Friends And I Are Makin Team Peter Shirts. Any Ideas On How To Make One??
For the Shirts: Walgreens sells T-Shirts for between $2.00 to $5.00 each. I've seen them on sale for 5 for $10.00 and they have all colors. They are usually Hanes Brand, which is a good brand.
For the Content: Staples, Walmart, etc. sell "Iron On T-Shirt Transfer Paper". You print them through an ink jet printer like normal paper then you cut it out and iron it on to the T-Shirt. Spend the extra money for the "For Black/Colored Fabric" because that comes out clearest on the shirt.
You just cut them out, lay the t-shirt flat, put the transfer on the shirt, and Iron it according to the instruction on the package.
I've been making t-shirts for friends for years. Quality and longevity of the transfer depends on a LOT of factors…
The first set I made for my friend lasted him over a year of frequent wearing… Another set I made for my father with Squidbillies stuff on it lasted 2 washes and now all the ink is rubbing off.
I don't know why this is… So you might have to try using different brands of transfer paper in the long run until you get a feel for it.
